Sleaford Town Council will not be holding a collection for items at the Town Hall because donating money is by far the best way to help Ukrainian refugees via an established organisation.
The groups who are assisting the Ukrainians have advised the following:
Charity vehicles are being held up at the EU border because of queues and/or insufficient paperwork.
Much of what is collected cannot be used and ends up in landfill.
Items that do get through might not get to where they're needed and will end up in landfill.
Sleaford Town Hall do not have the resources to collect items for Ukraine, so please do not leave items at the Town Hall.
Sleaford Town Council will discuss a motion to support Ukraine at our next Full Council meeting on 16th March 2022.
North Kesteven District Council has further information about supporting Ukraine. Please see their website.
