Chairman and Mayor of Sleaford Town Council

Councillor David Suiter was elected as the Chairman and Mayor during the Annual Meeting of the Town Council held on 15th May 2024.

Councillor Suiter represents the Navigation Ward and has served on the Town Council since 2003.

Honoured to have been elected, Councillor Suiter looks forward to working with the Vice Chairman, fellow Councillors and staff in the coming year.

Good evening and welcome! It's wonderful to see so many of you here tonight as we gather to celebrate the start of the festive season.

Christmas is a time for joy, togetherness, and reflection. As we prepare to light up our beautiful town, let's take a moment to appreciate the spirit of the season. This is a time to come together, to share in the warmth and light that Christmas brings, and to spread kindness and goodwill to all.

I'd like to thank everyone who has worked so hard to make this event possible. Your dedication and effort have brought us all together to enjoy this magical moment.

We gather together, hearts merry and light.
With laughter and cheer, and loved ones so near,
We welcome the season, the best time of year.
