Sleaford Market, which dates back to the early 12th Century, is held on the picturesque Market Place alongside St Denys' Church. North Kesteven District Council, who own the Market Place, are making it pedestrianised and work on this will commence from July through to December 2024. During this period, the Market will be relocated and held in Eastgate Car Park, Sleaford, NG34 7DJ. Once the works are complete, the Market will move back to the Market Place.

On the first Saturday of each month, a Lincolnshire Farmers' Market is held alongside the regular Market. This brings in more stalls, all laden with local produce.

All Market Traders agree to abide by the Town Council's Market Regulations and the "Real Deal" (Lincolnshire County Council) Code of Practice for Markets and Car Boot Fairs.

Pitch Costs
Sleaford Market is run on a pitch only basis at a cost of approx £2.30 per metre (70p per foot) frontage. A typical single pitch is 3m x 3m, which would be £7.00. We operate a 'buy one date, get one free' payment basis, which covers all the regular Markets apart from the Farmers Market. We will send you an invoice at the end of every month. We accept cash, cheque (made payable to Sleaford Town Council) or Bank transfer (details are available upon request).

Bookings are for a pitch only, stalls are not included.

New traders must give their required pitch measurements when booking, so that prices may be calculated. Pitches must be booked in advance.

Free markets – these are held where normal market days fall over Bank Holiday periods. An extra free day is also usually arranged for Christmas Eve, by permission from the District Council, where this doesn't fall on a normal Market Day.

Please Note: All Market Traders must provide a copy of their Public Liability Insurance certificate when booking a Market pitch.

Sleaford Christmas Market

Sleaford Christmas Market is a one day Market and is held on Advent Sunday each year. The Market attracts several thousand visitors to the town and is very popular. The Christmas Market includes gift stalls, food and drink, seating areas, live entertainment and attractions. The event is a perfect festive day out for all the family. The Market also incorporates the town's Christmas lights switch on. Pitch charges and applications are separate to our regular Markets and Farmers' Markets and will be advertised via our Facebook page and website.
